Senior IT Delivery Manager

Introduction

In the IT Services area, TCS implements the best in class solutions in the Business 4.0 era to enable strong digital foundations for our customers worldwide. We are working with a wide range of technologies and programming languages (common and rare ones) from Spring Boot, Hibernate, .NET, SharePoint to C++, C#, Java, RPG till AS400, Oracle and the evergreen Angular, React and Jest for testing automation.


Our aim is to provide high value to our customers via our MFDM (Machine First Delivery Model), Distributed Agile framework and strong CMA (Cloud and MicroServices) platforms that we together provide with all major vendors in the IT industry.

We are searching a Senior Delivery Manager to join to our team in the Budapest office.


Function

Your task as the new Senior Delivery Manager:

Area of responsibility 1: Operation Management

Tasks:

  • Builds and maintains motivated teams, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Periodically reports progress, performance, SLAs and other parameters of accounts in scope to Group Lead (IT Operation Head) via Balanced Score Card and Weekly Status Reports as per the schedule or as and when requested
  • Manages and monitors the agreed SLAs
  • Plans for business unit strategy and comes up with strategic solutions for successful implementation of project initiatives
  • Represents the team’s interest and makes sure the team collaborates, communicates and focuses on the pre-defined priorities
  • Manages day-to-day operation of IT services and the project scope
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by the local or other GNDM team before passing to client
  • Coaches the team members, facilitates continuous improvement and applies the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques matching the project requirements
  • Ensures customer satisfaction with respect to delivery
  • Defines and implements the processes and procedures required for enhancing the quality of deliverables and increasing customer satisfaction
  • Participates in business development activity by assisting scoping potential engagements within and outside of the account in scope
  • Meeting internal quality guidelines and standards
  • Coordinates with stakeholders on service delivery and communicates the sproject status reporting progress, delays and risks
  • Ensures that standard (like Agile) methodologies and processes are being followed
  • Manages environment for 100% availability or as described in Business Continuity Plan
  • Proactively manages dependencies, overcome obstacles and get the best value considering constraints
  • Ensures work environment is conducive for operation
  • Handles annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness for the IT department
  • Responsible for tracking the various Scrum teams efforts in an Agile way
  • Provides the Business Owner with the data needed to make decisions
  • Works closely with the Product Owners and Scrum Masters

Area of responsibility 2: Knowledge Management

  • Shares lessons learnt and best practices with other accounts
  • Ensures the availability and the update of appropriate knowledge base
  • Defines roles and responsibilities clearly for knowledge capturing and sharing
  • Gains understanding of latest technologies
  • Understands performance issues and carry out training planning
  • Recommends upgrades to customer, if necessary

Area of responsibility 3: People and Performance Management

  • Identifies and assigns appropriate roles to team members
  • Supports and provides guidance to team to achieve personal, team-based and professional goals
  • Monitors the team’s required competencies and enroll for relevant learnings to bridge the gaps in the competencies
  • Manages the performance of the team and identifies opportunities for performance and productivity improvement
  • Sets reasonable, challenging and clear performance goals for direct reports
  • Monitors performance and provides appropriate feedback
  • Plans for any additional resources if required
  • Facilitates communication and team building activities within the team
  • Reviews shift reports and validates activities carried out in shift
  • Updates knowledge and skills inventory for team members

Requirements

About you as a Senior Delivery manager:

· College or University Degree

· Fluent English language knowledge

Non-Technical:

· Able to identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use

· Able to preview potential risks and encourages problem-solving attitude

· Can adapt and reflect

· Resilient and has the ability to think outside the box

· Able to manage stakeholders’ expectations and be flexible

· Able to identify and challenge organizational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated

· Able to add value and coach the organization to investigate and adapt processes

· Guides teams through the implementation of any eventual new process
